One day, about two weeks ago, I was checking my Facebook and saw that I had a friend request. I clicked the link to see who it was and it was John Bartolomeo, a friend that Josh and I both knew in high school. I accepted the friend request, of course, and sent him a message asking what he and his bride were up to. As it turns out, he is stationed in Grafenwöhr, which is an hour outside of Nürnberg. He asked when we could get together, offered to pick us up, and that very weekend we went over to his house. We had an absolute blast hanging out with John, his wife Becca, and their son, Jack, who is nine months old. We were invited to stay the night and had just as much fun the next day as the first! They invited us over for the next weekend, even before we left, and of course we accepted. This past weekend was our second time to visit and we had even more fun than last time, something which none of the four of us thought was possible! It is so great to see old friends and also make new ones (Josh and I hadn't met Becca or Jack), especially when they live so close!
They have a store on base that is basically like WalMart and we've gotten to buy things that we either needed or missed, such as Dr. Pepper. They even have a hair salon and a spa in the same building! When Josh and I were at the Bartolomeo's, I mentioned that I was wanting to cut my hair and Becca offered to take me with her to her hair appointment the next day and see if they could fit me in. I was elated to find out that they could and when the lady who was cutting my hair asked what I wanted, I showed her the picture, she said, "Ok," got a cart from the other side of the salon, grabbed her scissors and WHACK! off went four inches. I got so excited and was beaming the whole time. It must have bothered the lady because she asked me if I was ok. :D I absolutely LOVE this haircut, as does Josh, and I will be wearing it for quite some time! It's short, it's cute, and it makes me look older and more mature in the best ways. I think I could pass for 25 ;)
It's short, I know, but it's all I have time for now. Have a great day! Tschüs!
